The post-Trump era political arena has seen no shortage of unconventional candidates: from rising superstar Vivek Ramaswamy, to the “outsider” of the famed Kennedy family — RFK Jr., to the UBI candidate Andrew Yang from the last election cycle.

美轮美换是一档深入探讨当今美国政治的中文播客。

美轮美换的前身是“选·美 iAmElection”,一档由游天龙、talich、林垚、庄巧祎等人于2015年创立的中文播客,选·美聚集了一群关心美国政治的学者、律师、媒体人、观察者和爱好者,在2016年大选前后吸引了大量的听众和读者,成为一档现象级的播客。2020年大选前,talich等人重新推出了“美轮美换”,更新了16集。2023年,新一轮美国大选即将开始,我们决定将选·美和美轮美换的传统延续下去,推出新版的“美轮美换”播客。

The American Roulette is produced by Baihua Media. It is a podcast dedicated to helping the Chinese-speaking community understand fast-changing U.S. politics.

The American Roulette’s predecessor is “iAmElection”, a Chinese-language podcast created by Tianlong You, Talich, Yao Lin, and Qiaoy Zhuangi in 2015. The podcast brought together a group of scholars, lawyers, media veterans, observers and enthusiasts who care about American politics. At the height of its popularity, it was featured in the New York Times, and attracted an estimated 70,000 audience who listened each month. For the 2020 election, Talich and others relaunched the podcast as "美轮美换" with 16 new episodes.

In 2023, as the new round of U.S. presidential election is about to begin, we’re building on the legacy of “iAmElection” and “美轮美换” to launch a new podcast that we hope will become your go-to American Politics podcast. We introduce: “美轮美换 The American Roulette.”

大家好,我是 Talich。 新一期播客里,寄馀生老师提到了,对于哈里斯来说,接下来两周,最要的事,是定义自己。 的确,对于任何一个候选人,最重要的事情,就是要定义自己,和定义对手。 在大选中,我们熟悉的往往是定义对手,就是 opposition research,寻找对方的弱点,来定义对手。从很大程度上说,这次大选,拜登和特朗普四年的口水战下来,都已经成功的、地定义了对手。但是,相比起来,特朗普团队对拜登的定义,是更成功的。 因为成功地定义对手的目的,是要向对手发起进攻。好的竞选策略,是在自己舒服的议题上战斗,在对手的家门口打仗,这样才能让对手处于守势。在竞选时,自己的优势,往往并不是在自己最擅长的、最有能力的议题上,而是在那些自己相对于对手最有优势的问题。这在今年尤其明显。虽然特朗普和拜登都是八旬老人,但是特朗普在竞选活动中显得气势逼人,就反衬出拜登的老态。所以特朗普团队以拜登绕不过的年龄问题做文章,抓住拜登的每一次失误,成功地让拜登团队畏手畏脚,打不开局面。 但是定义对手的另一面,

大家好,我是王浩岚。 搬运一些我最近的评论和接受的采访。 端传媒 | 拜登退选:黑天鹅不断,哈里斯接班难点为何?两党将如何各自整合? 哈里斯面临的挑战: 哈里斯所要解决的,远不止是上位程序这一个问题。哈里斯本身的特殊身份——黑人女性,来自加州旧金山的自由派,让她在传统中西部锈带主导的大选选战中处于一个非常不利的劣势地位。不管这种对女性、对少数族裔、和对西海岸自由派的刻板印象是否合理,许多中西部非常注重“大男子气概”的工人蓝领选民,就是非常不吃这一套叙事。 2016年特朗普的爆冷胜选,2020年拜登收复蓝墙,重夺锈带,都说明中西部有相当一部分选民习惯于选择白人男性作为总统。当然,这并不代表哈里斯一定就无法帮助民主党守住宾夕法尼亚、密歇根、威斯康辛这三个关键的锈带州,只是她很难继承拜登在劳工群体中的独有优势,这让她只能通过刺激党内少数裔和年轻选民,吸引女性选民和部分高教育程度城郊选民来另辟蹊径,抵消她替换拜登后失去的部分相对优势。此外,拜登在白人群体,特别是老年人中的特殊优势,恐怕也是哈里斯所无法完全复刻的,是注定要失去一部分选民了。 民主党临阵换帅的豪赌: 这也将是民主党
